What is/are your BIG, scary dream(s)?
The two biggest dreams throughout my life were to go to medical school and to have my own business. I did not achieve the first but instead had a very successful career as a research scientist and a corporate learning and development professional. I did, however, achieve the second. I stepped out completely on faith in 2013 and took early retirement to pursue my dream of entrepreneurship. I am in the early stages of building a family business in the network marketing industry. I realize it will take a bit of time to get to the point of realizing my true “why”, which is changing the legacy of my family for generations to come by taking money off the table as an issue.
Why did you join the Motherhood Dreams and Success anthology project?
I realized a few years that there is a book inside of me. For quite some time I have been studying the book of Genesis and the creation of man and woman, specifically the time before the fall. I am intrigued by the idea of a perfect union of inclusion and purpose between men and women, which I believe was God’s intention. The anthology has opened up the opportunity to express this idea in the context of dreams, hopes, and aspirations that mothers and caregivers birth into the world. It is a veritable stepping stone to a larger writing project.
